5. How to Make Money with a Podcast

There are more ways than you can imagine to earn money with a Podcast, such as advertising, asking for donations, creating a subscription system and selling your own products.

Well, after all this effort and dedication, you’ll be wondering: is it worth making a Podcast?

Of course it is! Like any business, if it’s something you enjoy and spend time and a lot of imagination on, you’ll get the most out of it.

The goal is to gain listeners so that you have a large audience, and an excellent way to reach that goal is by creating original and entertaining Podcasts.

There are actually two ways in which a Podcast can generate money for you, directly and indirectly.

Direct

Direct forms basically encompass all the possible ways of generating income produced by the Podcast itself, for example: advertising spots, advertising notes, subscription and donation.

Advertising Jingles. This method is the most commonly used, as you only need to enter a third party company’s advertisement in your Podcast. For this reason it is the most difficult to get, because you must have a large number of listeners for these companies to fix their attention on your Podcast.

Advertising notes. Unlike the previous one, this advertising is more delicate, so to speak, since here you are the main character of advertising, in which you share your opinion about a product made by others.

It is important that you are completely honest, because remember that it is your reputation that will be at stake.

Subscription. It can be very effective if your content generates a lot of interest in the listeners, you can offer a subscription, a kind of VIP or Premium account, so that people can get additional and individual information.

Donation. The latter may seem the least indicated to you, as you can question the good will of people, but do not be fooled, today there are many people aware that you are willing to collaborate to help promote excellent projects. Make sure yours is one of those.

However, there are also some indirect ways to generate income with your Podcast. These ways are practically making your own advertising, your brand or your products.

Some of the ways you can put into practice are:

Name your website:.Podcasts are an attractive way to attract more visitors to your website, this way you can reach a large number of followers.

Make your products available:.There is no better way to get closer to the public than through Podcast, because while people are listening to you you get all their attention, and the ideal time to promote your services or products.
